    When Cathrine Ann, owner of Consumer Connection, started her business 12 years ago, she was homeless and researching how to rob a bank.

    That’s when opportunity came knocking: she picked up her last E.I. cheque and found a note inside that a government-sponsored entrepreneurial course was looking for applicants.

    Realizing her boyfriend (now husband) probably wouldn’t support the bank idea, she decided to take the business course instead.

    It took research, hard work, and perseverance to build Consumer Connections – a B2B ‘mystery shopping’ services company – into a successful million-dollar enterprise.

    Cathrine M. Ann, president of Consumer Connections Inc., does over $1-million in revenue annually with her home-based business. But when she started 12 years ago, she was 40 years old, unemployed, broke and homeless. She wasn’t worried, though. She had a plan.
