What’s the Secret of Continuing “Entrepreneur” Education?
One of my marketing mentors, Bill Glazer, is famous for saying, “The biggest difference between an average income and financial freedom is IMPLEMENTATION.”
Whether it pertains to your industry-related continuing education, getting your MBA, or engineering your own personal development – what all successful entrepreneurs seem to have in common is that they implement new ideas, often with alarming speed.
How you continue to improve your skills, keep your edge or reach the top of your profession may somewhat be determined by the degree of education you achieve. However, what the REAL secret to success seems to be, is not letting what you’ve learned turn into expensive “shelf-ware.” You know what I mean; look at your bookcase right now. How many binders full of gems of information from seminars and such do you own? That many, huh?
I personally believe that if we’re not growing and learning, we’re dying. Having said that, I have witnessed entrepreneurs who say they want success, part with large sums of money to learn what they think will give them the answers, only to pack away their notes (and great ideas) without putting them to use. You don't have to get it right, you just have to get it started.
